Class Description

The objective of the course is to provide an overview on the most recent and advanced tools for the study and development of heterogeneous catalytic processes. The course is organized in a series of lectures given by expert in the field on the various subjects.

After a first introductive seminar on heterogeneous catalysis and catalysts, other lectures will be offered deepening the following aspects:

  • Applications of FT IR spectroscopy in heterogeneous catalysis: a closer look at the catalyst surface;
  • Transient methods in heterogeneous catalysis and operando spectroscopies;
  • The contribution of the structural characterization techniques to the development of catalytic systems;
  • Hierarchicalmultiscaleapproachestosystemcomplexityinheterogeneouscatalysis.
